SNAP-2 First Publication

The second Sprint National Audit Project (SNAP-2 EPICCS) was carried out in March 2017, with STAR Members playing a pivotal role in data collection in our region. The project was a prospective observational study, investigating the epidemiology of peri-operative risk and outcome, and critical care referral and admission, following inpatient surgery in the UK.

The first results from this study have now been published in the latest issue of the British Journal of Anaesthesia. This paper offers important insights into the risk factors for cancellation of planned surgery in the NHS. Thanks to all our members who contributed to this study, whose names are included on its extremely long list of collaborators.
