Peri-operative Replacement of Exogenous Steroids (PREdS)

We are delighted to announce the launch of the next STAR project:

This prospective, multicentre study assessed the number of patients presenting for elective, urgent or emergencyprocedures who are taking long-term oral steroids and determine how perioperative
steroid replacement is currently being managed.

​

Data collection included all patients aged ≥18 years, having procedures that
required input of an anaesthetist (general anaesthesia, regional anaesthesia, and/or
sedation with monitoring), across all medical and surgical specialties.


Data collection took place over any consecutive 14 day period within the study
window which will run from 26th September until 4th December 2022.


Local investigators will receive certificates of participation and will be named
as a PubMed-indexed collaborators on any resulting publications.
