Peri-operative Replacement of Exogenous Steroids (PREdS)
We are delighted to announce the launch of the next STAR project:

We are looking for enthusiastic trainees to take part in this prospective, multicentre
study to assess the number of patients presenting for elective, urgent or emergency
procedures who are taking long-term oral steroids and determine how perioperative
steroid replacement is currently being managed.

Data collection will include all patients aged ≥18 years, having procedures that
require input of an anaesthetist (general anaesthesia, regional anaesthesia, and/or
sedation with monitoring), across all medical and surgical specialties.
Data collection will take place over any consecutive 14 day period within the study
window which will run from 26th September until 4th December.
Local investigators will receive certificates of participation and will be named
as a PubMed-indexed collaborators on any resulting publications.
