New STAR Chair

The STAR Committee are thrilled to introduce our new Chair, Jon Barnes, who will be taking over from Katie Samuels in this role.

Jon is an anaesthesia and intensive care registrar and current chair of STAR.

He moved to Severn in 2017, having trained and worked in the North East and London regions, alongside time spent working in Africa and undertaking international retrieval work. Jon has an interest in perioperative medicine and has completed a linked fellowship and PGCert. He has an interest in education and regularly teaches on ALS and APLS alongside acting as course director for several programmes run through the foundation school.

Outside of work Jon enjoys playing sport, doing dodgy DIY and spending time with his young family.”
