AEROCOMP

STAR are delighted to support the launch of the next PLAN (Pan London Perioperative Audit and Research Network) project:

AeroComp (Prevalence of airway complications and association with aerosol precautions – a prospective, multicentre, service evaluation).

PLAN are looking for enthusiastic trainees to take part in this service evaluation to assess the uptake of precautions against transmission of aerosols during general anaesthesia, and any particular association with airway complications.

Data collection will take place over a consecutive 4 day period in October-November 2021 (exact dates within the project timeframe will be decided locally to suit trainees), and will be supported by STAR.

PLAN will be collaborating multiple trainee research networks around the country to deliver this project which we expect to have clinically significant results. Anyone who collects data for a patient that is included in this study will be named as a PubMed-indexed collaborator on all resulting publications.
